Optimal monopile design incorporating cyclic loading effects and clay soil conditions

Introducing MIDASclay, a follow-up project to MIDAS

MIDASclay stands for Monopile Improved Design through Advanced cyclic Soil modelling in clay. The primary goal of the project is to address knowledge gaps related to monopile-soil interaction under cyclic loading in cohesive soils and develop an engineering model for fast, reliable monopile design. This will be achieved through a blend of centrifuge and numerical modelling studies.

The project will be coordinated by Eangelos Kementzetzidis from TU Delft, bringing together esteemed partners including Deltares, Huisman, NGI, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energies, TotalEnergies, Vattenfall, and Van Oord.
