New Project: WrapNode-II
The second phase in the development of wrapped composite joints
Within the second phase of the GROW WrapNode project, the wrapped composite joint technology is developed towards full‐scale application and validated on critical points. RVO awarded the project in early July 2023.
The project develops, optimises and validates prediction tools and manufacturing processes. We do this with scaled and full‐scale composite joint tests as well as via the production, assembly, and testing of a scaled jacket structure. The results will validate the use of wrapped composite joints in offshore jackets, bringing the Technology Readiness Level from level five (reached in the first phase of the WrapNode project) towards level six. The project supports the step towards implementing a full-scale jacket structure planned in the follow‐up project called WrapUp.
The project coordinator is TU Delft. Other project partners are AOC Nederland, Enersea, HSM Offshore, Parkwind, Shell, Siemens Gamesa, Tree Composites and Vattenfall.
