Growth through Research, development & demonstration in Offshore Wind

New Project: Next step in the development of the GDP technique

Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) approved GDP2.0, the fourth project in the process

During the Gentle Driving of Piles 2.0 (GDP2.0) project, the team will take the technique to the next level. We will design, engineer, procure, construct and test a large-scale prototype of the GDP shaker that could install up to 4 meters in diameter monopiles. The GDP technique will be demonstrated offshore in the follow-up of this sequence of projects, GDP3.0.

In previous projects, the technique was successfully demonstrated for application in sandy soil (GDP) and in clay soil (GDP1.2). In the ongoing SIMOX project, further knowledge will be gained to improve the offshore installation technology. In total, the development of GDP technology comprises five projects intending to have GDP installation technology commercially available offshore by 2027.
