Lots of interest in SIMOX Demo Day
Many professionals from the offshore wind industry, government, and knowledge institutes showed their interest in the demonstration of the Sustainable Installation of XXL Monopiles (SIMOX) project in the Port of Amsterdam.
It was a little uncertain whether it could go on due to strong winds, but fortunately, the two groups of visitors could witness one of the various investigated silent installation technologies install a monopile after they got a short presentation from the project team.
During the onshore test campaign, we measure the pile's behaviour during and after the installation. So far, the installations have been successful and prove to be promising for the installation of offshore wind farms of the future.
